- Is it possible to monitor the traffic passing through Firewall(Brocade 5600 vRouter)?ECL2.0, Monitoring
In the ECL 2.0 monitoring menu, you can check IN / OUT traffic (bps) for each interface at 5 minutes intervals.

- How to collect data, generate graphs and report for virtual server memory usage by using Monitoring menu?ECL2.0, Monitoring, Virtual Server
For virtual server memory usage (and others that are not included in the meters provided as standard in Monitoring menu), you can use Monitoring function (graph display, alert setting, etc.) by using Custom Meter.
There are two methods to use Custom Meter. You can choose either or both of them according to your environment.
1. Use a custom meter agent
(Note: Windows OS is not included in the target operating system)2. Create and use a script (for collecting data and sending it to the monitoring server)
(Note: The script needs to be prepared by customers)Please refer to the tutorial below for detailed procedure on each method.
Service Descriptions - Monitoring - Custom Meter
Tutorials - Monitoring - Use Custom Meter - On Monitoring Control Panel, CPU utilization of Virtual Server Instance sometimes exceed 100%. Is this normal?ECL2.0, Monitoring, Virtual Server
Yes. The maximum value is “100 percent x number of CPU cores”. (Example: If the virtual server instance is 16 CPUs, the value ranges from 0 to 1600 percent.)
So CPU Utilization may exceed 100%, depending on the flavor of the virtual server.Reference:
Service Description - Monitoring - Data Collection/Accumulation - Virtual Server Instance - What are the differences between "GW-IF alive monitoring" and "IF alive monitoring" of VPN Connectivity?ECL2.0, Monitoring, VPN Connectivity
- There is a difference between the value obtained by Monitoring and the value checked on the guest OS for the CPU usage rate of the virtual server.ECL2.0, Monitoring
The data of the virtual server displayed on Monitoring service is acquired from the hypervisor housing the virtual server and this information includes not only the load of the guest OS but also overhead load due to virtualization.
Therefore, the CPU usage rate displayed on Monitoring service may be different from the CPU usage rate displayed on the guest OS. - Can I set multiple e-mail addresses for the alarm mail sending destination address on the monitoring menu?ECL2.0, Monitoring
Yes. Multiple email addresses can be set by setting multiple actions when creating / editing alarms.
Specifically, you can set multiple actions by pressing the "+ add" button in the item "3. Define Your Alarm Actions" on the alarm creating / editing screen.
Reference: Tutorials - Monitoring - Creating Monitoring Alarm - Does the e-mail address that can be specified as the alarm mail sending destination address in the monitoring menu need to be the e-mail address of the user who can access Smart Data Platform Portal?ECL2.0, Monitoring
No. It is not necessary to be the e-mail address of users who can access Smart Data Platform Portal.
An arbitrary mail address can be set as the mail address that can be specified as the alarm mail sending destination address in the monitoring menu.
Reference: Tutorials - Monitoring - Creating Monitoring Alarm - Is it possible to delete the specified record from the data displayed on Monitoring Control Panel?ECL2.0, Monitoring
- Is there a ping monitoring function for virtual servers in Monitoring menu?ECL2.0, Monitoring
No. Ping monitoring for virtual severs is not provided in Monitoring menu.
As an alternative function, "Hypervisor Status" function is provided. For example, “VM dead peer monitoring” shows the monitoring result from the infrastructure side that provides the virtual server instance, and the trouble caused by internal instance problems (kernel panic or OS crash) occurring while the virtual server instance is running can not be detected.
* If you want to do it by Ping, you need to do it yourself. For details, please refer the Service Descriptions.
