What is the difference between Power Off button and Shutdown button in the Virtual Machine management screen?Compute Resource
- Shutdown button: For shutting down guest OS on Virtual Machine. Power state will change to Partially Powered Off state.
- PowerOff button: For shutting down Virtual Machine.
Note: This button will forcefully shut down Virtual Machine. Therefore please use this function after shutting down guest OS.
Note: In case of changing Virtual Machine configuration (ID, description, # of vCPUs, Memory capacity, name of disk, disk capacity), please make sure that the Virtual Machine is powered off.

Why can I not upload my OVA file?Compute Resource

It also contains requirements which must be met in order to be able to utilize the feature in the first place. -
Why does my Virtual Machine created from a registered Private Catalog Template not function properly?Compute Resource
Whenever registering a Template to the Private Catalog, the Virtual Machine which is used to make the Template must have VMware Tools installed on it.
In case you made the Template of a Virtual Machine without VMware Tools installed, please install them and recreate the Template.Note: A Virtual Machine may not able to be created or monitored properly if VMware Tools is not installed.

Can I use Red Hat server that I made from Public Catalog Template as yum repository?Compute Resource
No. Redistribution of software is prohibited.

I cannot delete the Compute Resource Pool. How can I delete it?Compute Resource
Please first delete all Virtual Machines in the Compute Resource Pool before trying to delete the Compute Resource Pool.

Why can I not delete my Virtual Machine?Compute Resource
The vFirewall or vLoad Balancer appliance itself can not be deleted until all the rules contained which require deletion have been properly removed. Once this is complete, please attempt the deletion once more.

Why can I not login/boot up my newly created Virtual Machine? (There was an error upon creation.)Compute Resource
There is a possibility that this is due to a failure in the Guest Customization process that is caused by the lack of Memory or resource in your Resource Pool.

As indicated in the service specification, there is a small bit of overhead Memory which is allocated and used for each vCPU.
If the total amount of Memory given to your Virtual Machines added to the overhead Memory needed by all the vCPUs in use exceeds the amount of Memory stated in your contract, you will be unable to boot any additional Virtual Machines.
Memory Resource Sizing -
I was assigned a hostname that starts with "jvx" when I newly made a Virtual Machine in the Customer Portal screen. Can I change this hostname?Compute Resource
Changing the hostname of the Virtual Machine in guest OS is possible, however, it will be returned back to the original hostname when executing Guest Customization.

This will possibly influence the applications you installed; therefore it is recommended that you do not change the hostname.
You can still change the name of the Virtual Machine in the Customer Portal.
