2.2.6.2. Setting up File Upload Restriction

With the following steps, the restriction on the size of a file to be uploaded to the web server is defined.
You can set the anti-virus function valid or invalid.
File Upload Restriction requires to create a rule (File Upload Restriction Rule) first. Then, it requires to create a policy applying the rule (File Upload Restriction Policy).

2.2.6.2.1. File upload restriction setting items

The following items are required for creating file uploading restriction rules.

Enter the rule's name.
2-byte character such as Japanese and symbols shown below are not accepted.

Request URL

(half-width alphanumeric)

Enter the rule's target URL.
This URL is a programming file's URL that the web server will use for file uploading. Any protocol and IP address are not entered.
File Size Limit

(half-width numeric)

Enter the maximum file size.
It should be set between 1024 and 10240 KB (kilobyte).

Note

Request URL should be entered like the following examples.

  • If the programming file's URL is "https\://192.168.2.101/upload.php",
    its Request URL will be "/upload.php".
  • If the programming file's URL is "https\://192.168.2.100/sites/portal/layout/upload.aspx",
    its Request URL will be "/sites/portal/layout/upload.aspx".

  • Alert: an alert will be sent but blocking will not be made.

  • Alert Deny: an alert will be sent and blocking will be made.

Antivirus Scan

If you check the box, the Anti-virus function becomes valid.


2.2.6.2.2. File Upload Restriction Addition.

  1. Prepare the rule (File Upload Restriction Rule).
    Click [ |rp_right_screen| ] from the object screen shown at the left-side of the screen.
    Object ‣ Protection Profile ‣ File Upload Restriction ‣ File Upload Restriction Rule

    Click [ Add ] from the File Upload Restriction Rule section shown at the right-side of the screen.

    Click Add


  1. Enter the setting value and click [ Save ].
    For the details of the setting items, please refer to File upload restriction setting items .

    Save Object


  1. Create the policy (File Upload Restriction Policy).
    Click [ File Upload Restriction Policy ] shown on the object screen shown at the left-side of the screen.
    Object --> Protection Profile --> File Upload Restriction --> File Upload Restriction Policy

    Click [ Add ] on the File Upload Restriction Policy screen shown at the right-side of the screen.

  1. Enter the setting value and click [ Save ].
    For the details of the setting items, please refer to File upload restriction setting items .

  1. Click [ Save Change ] to apply the settings to your device.

2.2.6.2.3. File Upload Restriction modification: (edit/copy/delete)

Edit File Upload Restriction Rule and File Upload Restriction Policy respectively.

  1. Select [ File Upload Restriction Rule ] or [ File Upload Restriction Policy ] from the object screen shown at the left-side of the screen.

    Prepare the rule (TCP Connection Limit).
    Click [ |rp_right_screen| ] from the object screen shown at the left-side of the screen.
    Object ‣ Protection Profile ‣ File Upload Restriction ‣ File Upload Restriction Rule

    Select an edit target line at the section of File Upload Restriction Rule shown at the right-side of the screen, and click the relevant action button.

    Click Change


    File Upload Restriction Policy
    Create the policy (File Upload Restriction Policy).
    Click [ File Upload Restriction Policy ] shown on the object screen shown at the left-side of the screen.
    Object --> Protection Profile --> File Upload Restriction --> File Upload Restriction Policy

    Select an edit target line on the File Upload Restriction Policy screen shown at the right-side of the screen, and click the relevant action button.

    The table below shows descriptions of each button used at File Upload Restriction Rule .

    Edit

    This button allows you to edit the values used for File Upload Restriction Rule or File Upload Restriction Policy that have already set.

    Copy

    This button allows you to copy the existing File Upload Restriction Rule or File Upload Restriction Policy and open the object setting screens which contain the same values of those.
    It will be useful to define another File Upload Restriction Rule or File Upload Restriction Policy with similar values.
    Name must be changed.

    Delete

    This button allows you to delete a selected File Upload Restriction Rule or File Upload Restriction Policy.
    Objects which are being used cannot be deleted.
    • File Upload Restriction Rule which is being used under File Upload Restriction Policy cannot be deleted.

    • File Upload Restriction Policy which is being used under Web Protection Profile cannot be deleted.


    For deleting an item, a confirmation message will be shown. Click [ OK ] to delete.

  1. Click [ Save Change ] to apply the settings to your device.
