2.2.9. Log Sending Settings to a Customer Managed Syslog Server.

Set up this if you would like to the log forwarding to the Customer Managed Syslog Server.
Only one Syslog Server being your managed will be available.

2.2.9.1. Default Value : Syslogd

By default, you need to set up Syslogd , if necessary.

2.2.9.2. Setting Items : Syslogd

Following describes the [ Syslogd ] setting items as below:

Either [ Enable ] or [ Disable ]

Here, select whether or not you select your Managed Syslog server.

  • [ Enable ]: Sets up your managed Syslog Server.

  • [ Disable ]: Sets up your Managed Syslog Server.

Once you added another settings, you can NOT remove the one. If you would like not to use this, select [ Disable ] here.

Port

(with half-width numbers)

Input port number(UDP) of customer's syslog server that will receive syslog data.
You should input any parameters here, please do NOT leave this field blank.

Facility

(Facility Name)

You need to select the Facility Name to identify the log message upon your managed Syslog Server.

Server IP Address

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Input an IP Address of your managed Syslog Server with decimal system.



2.2.9.3. Adding Syslogd

  1. Click the Routing from the left-side Object screen.
    Log ‣ Syslogd

    Click [Edit] on the Syslogd screen on the right side of the screen.

    Click Add


  1. Change Status to Enable, enter the setting value, and click [Save].
    Input Setting Items : Syslogd to the setting value.

    Save Object


  1. Apply configuration to the device by clicking [Apply configuration].

    Save Config



2.2.9.4. How to Edit Syslogd

  1. Click the Routing from the left-side Object screen.
    Log ‣ Syslogd

    Select the target changed line at the right-side Syslogd , and click [ **Edit ** ].

    Click Change

    Change the settings of Syslogd .
    In case customer wish to stop using this, you need to change Status to [Disable] by using [Edit] since deletion is not allowed.
