Service Object Settings

Following describe how to set up the service Object being utilized at a Firewall Policy.

Service Object Default Value

By default, the frequently utilizing Service Object has been defined in advance. You are allowed to edit these default service object for usage.
Of course, you can define the service object depending on the customer environment.

When you click [ Service Object ] by default, the default service object will display.

Service Object : Setting Items

Following are setting items of a Service Object.

Service Name

(Half-width alphabetical characters and numbers)

Input a Service Object name.
You can not utilize any two-byte characters, such as Japanese, and the following signs as below:
< > ( ) # ' " Space (blank)

Protocol Type

[ICMP], [IP], [UDP] or [TCP]

Select a service protocol from the following items: [ICMP], [IP], [UDP] or [TCP]

Comment

(Half-width alphabetical characters and numbers)

Fill in any comments, if desired.
Input your comments by using at maximum 225 words. You can NOT use any two-byte characters, such as Japanese.

Following are additional setting items when your setting up [ ICMP ] as [ Protocol Type ] .

Input this parameters, if you would like to designate an ICMP type.
You can define a protocol as [ Any ], if you would like to stay one blank (space).

Input an ICMP code, if you would like to specify one.
You can define a protocol as [ Any ], if you would like to stay one blank (space).

Following are additional setting items when your setting up a Protocol Type as [ IP ].

Input the IP Protocol Number, if you would like to specify one.
You can define a protocol as [ Any ], if you would like to stay one blank (space).

Following are the additional setting items in the Security Service, if you set up either [ UDP ] or [ TCP ] as a Protocol Type.

Input the destination port number, if you would like to designate one.
You can define a protocol as [ Any ], if you would like to stay one blank (space).

Destination Port

(Half-width numbers)

Input the destination port number if you would like to specify one.
Input of the destination port number is absolutely needed. Therefore, to allow as Any, input "1-65535".


Service Object Addition.

  1. Click Service Object from the left-side Object screen.
    Object ‣ Service ‣ Service Object

    Click [ Add ] at Service Object of the right-side screen.

    Click Add


  1. Click [ Save ] after your inputting a setting value.
    Please refer to Setting Items : Service Object , for more information of the setting items.

  1. Apply configuration to the device by clicking [Save].

Note

  • Please be sure to save the object [Save changes] before creating the firewall policy.



Service Object Modification : [ Edit / Duplicate / Remove ]

  1. Click Service Object from the left-side Object screen.
    Object ‣ Service ‣ Service Object

    Select a target changed line at the right-side Service Object screen, then click a specific operation button, if necessary.

    Click Change


    Following describes respective buttons at Service Object .

    Operation Bottuns

    Descriptions

    [ Edit ]

    Modify the value at Service Object that has already been set.

    [ Duplicate ]

    After your duplicating the configured Service Object, the object setting screen will open with a same value.
    Make sure to change Service Name .
    This is useful for you to define another Service Object with a same value.

    [ Remove ]

    Remove your selected Service Object .


    When your deleting one, the confirmation message will display. Please click [OK] to finally execute its deletion.

    Confirm Delete Object

    NOTE: You can NOT remove any object which has been utilizing at a Firewall Policy.


  1. Apply configuration to the device by clicking [Save].

    Save Config

  • Please be sure to save the object [Save changes] before creating the firewall policy.
