Cooperation with Monitoring service

Managed Load Balancer provides the function to monitor various resources by cooperation with Monitoring service.

Items that can be set in Monitoring service

You can set the following items for the Managed Load Balancer in the Monitoring service. Click here  for details of items that can be set (measurement method, unit, etc.).

Items listed in "Managed Load Balancer":Set as resource

  • CPU usage

  • Memory usage

  • Traffic (IN)

  • Traffic (OUT)

  • The number of simultaneous TCP connections

  • The number of new TCP connections

  • The number of packets exceeding the upper limit

Items listed in "Managed Load Balancer Policy": Set as sub-resource

  • The number of connections

  • The number of normal members

  • The number of abnormal members

How to use monitoring

You can use Monitoring Control Panel to set alarms (notify email addresses) and check meters (monitoring items).

Monitoring setting example (Monitoring Alarm setting)

This section describes the procedure of setting Monitoring Alarm. Here, set "Send alarm by email when CPU usage exceeds 80%" as a resource.

Create a Monitoring Alarm

Select the Cloud / Server Monitoring menu for the Monitoring / Audit service.


Select the region where the Managed Load Balancer is located.

Alarms screen is displayed.


Click the "Create" button.

The screen for creating a new alarm is displayed.

Set the content of Monitoring Alarm

Set on the screen for creating a new alarm.


1.In "Define Your Alarm", enter Alarm Name and Description and select Severity.

2.In "Define Your Alarm Threshold”, select "Managed Load Balancer" or "Managed Load Balancer Policy" from Service.

For Resource Name, set the ID of the Managed Load Balancer (as it appears in the Managed Load Balancer overview). Enter Meter Name, Operator, and Threshold.

3.In "Define Your Alarm Actions", set the action content and click the "Add" button.

Confirm that the contents set in "Added Actions" are displayed.

4.Set the "Define Advanced Settings For Your Alarm" as needed.

Save Monitoring Alarm settings

After setting all, click ”Save Alarm" button.


The confirmation message is displayed. If that's alright, click the "OK" button.

Check the set Monitoring Alarm

If saved correctly, it will be listed in Alarms.
