How to configure the target group¶
This section describes how to configure the target group.
The target group setting provides a grouping function for load balancing targets (real servers) of the Managed Load Balancer.

Add target group¶
1. From the control panel, select Cloud / Server Local Network → Managed Load Balancer.
2. The Managed Load Balancer list screen will be displayed. Select the Managed Load Balancer whose target group you want to add.
3. Open the "Target Groups" tab and click ”Add Target Group".
4. Enter the required fields to add the target group and click "Add Target Group". The items that can be configured when adding a target group are as follows.

Note
You can specify only one member when creating a target group, but you can add more target group members later.
5. Click "Add target group" at the bottom right of the screen to determine the settings.
6. Confirm that the config status of the target group is ”CREATE_STAGED”.
7. Execute ”Apply Managed Load Balancer Settings” to complete the addition of the target group.
Note
You can apply the changes of settings for Managed Load Balancer together with other setting items.
Display the details of target group¶
1. In the Managed Load Balancer list screen, click the resource name of the Managed Load Balancer whose target group details you want to check.
Open the "Target Groups" tab and click the resource name of the target group for more information.
3. The details screen of the target group will be displayed. The information that can be confirmed on the target group details screen is as follows.

The possible values are as follows.
・”ACTIVE”:Managed Load Balancer does not have a config waiting to be applied.
・”CREATE_STAGED”:The config added to the load balancer is waiting to be applied.
・”UPDATE_STAGED”:The config to be changed to the load balancer is waiting to be applied.
・”DELETE_STAGED”:The config to be deleted by the load balancer is waiting to be applied.

Operation status |
You can see the operational status of the target group.
The possible values are as follows.
・”NONE”:Initial state
・”PROCESSING”:The state in which the config is being applied to the load balancer.
・”COMPLETE”:The state where the latest operation is completed.
・”STUCK”:The latest operation processing is stopped and operator intervention is required, so it is impossible to operate the resource.
・”ERROR”:The latest operation processing failed, but since it has been rolled back normally, it is possible to operate the resource.

Edit target group¶
1.In the Managed Load Balancer list screen, click the resource name of the Managed Load Balancer whose target group you want to edit..
2. Open the "Target Groups" tab and click "Edit Target Group" from the Actions pull-down for the target group you want to edit.
3. Enter the settings to be edited. The items that can be set are as follows.

4. Click "Edit target group" at the bottom right of the screen to confirm the settings.
Cancel the changes of settings for target group¶
1. In the Managed Load Balancer list screen, click the resource name of the Managed Load Balancer whose target group settings you want to cancel.
2. Open the "Target Groups" tab and click "Cancel the Target Group Settings" from the Actions pull-down for the target group whose settings you want to cancel.
3. The confirmation screen for canceling the target group settings is displayed, click ”Cancel Target Group Settings”.
Delete target group¶
1. In the Managed Load Balancer list screen, click the resource name of the Managed Load Balancer whose target group settings you want to delete.
2. Open the "Target Groups" tab and click "Delete Target Group" from the Actions pull-down for the target group you want to delete.
3. The confirmation screen for deleting the target group is displayed, click ”Delete Target Group”.
Note
After the configuration status of the target group becomes "DELETE_STAGED" with this operation, the target group settings will not be deleted from the load balancer instance until the Managed Load Balancer settings changes are applied. If you want to delete the target group settings from the load balancer instance, please execute "Apply Managed Load Balancer Settings" following this operation.
If you want to cancel the setting that is "DELETE_STAGED", execute "Cancel the Target Group Settings".
4. Confirm that the status of the target group turns into "DELETE_STAGED".
5. Execute "Apply Managed Load Balancer Settings" to complete the target group deletion.

You can apply the changes of settings for Managed Load Balancer together with other setting items.
Add members to the target group¶
1. In the Managed Load Balancer list screen, click the resource name of the Managed Load Balancer whose target group member you want to add.
2. Open the "Target Groups" tab and click the resource name of the target group to which you want to add members.
3. Open the "Members" tab and click "Add Member".
4. Enter the items required to add a member. The items that can be set are as follows.

Cancel addition of target group members¶
1. In the Managed Load Balancer list screen, click the resource name of the Managed Load Balancer whose target group members you want to cancel adding.
2. Open the "Target Groups" tab and click the resource name of target group whose members you want to cancel adding.
3. Open the "Target Groups" and click "Cancel Member Addition" for the member you want to cancel adding.
Delete target group members¶
1. In the Managed Load Balancer list screen, click the resource name of the Managed Load Balancer whose target group member you want to delete.
2. Open the "Target Groups" tab and click the resource name of the target group whose members you want to delete.
3. Open the Members tab and click "Delete Member" for the member you want to delete.
4. Confirm that the status of the target group members is ”Waiting for Deletion”.
5. Execute "Apply Managed Load Balancer Settings" to complete deletion of target group members.

You can apply the changes of settings for Managed Load Balancer together with other setting items.
Cancel deletion of target group member¶
1. In the Managed Load Balancer list screen, click the resource name of the Managed Load Balancer whose target group member you want to cancel deleting.
2. Open the "Target Groups" tab and click the resource name of target group whose members you want to cancel deleting.
3. Open the Members tab and click "Cancel Member Deletion" for the member whose you want to cancel deleting.
