7.1.1.2. How to Create a Block Storage (Provisioned I/O Performance).¶
For configuring new Block Storage, it is necessary to complete these 2 tasks: 1. [ Create Virtual Storage ] ; 2. [ Add Volume ].
Creating a Virtual Storage¶
Click [ Create Virtual Storage ] on the below screen.
Specify the following parameters when your creating [ Virtual Storage ].
Name |
Name of a Virtual Storage being Created. |
Volume Type |
Select [ piops_iscsi_na ]. |
Logical Network |
Select a destination Logical Network being connected to your Virtual Storage from the pull-down menu. You must create the destination Logical Network in advance. |
Subnet |
Select a destination Subnet, whicht the Virtual Server connects to. The selectable Subnet is one which exists in the selected Logical Network above. |
IP Address Pool |
You can destinate a specific Range of the IP Address enabling utilization as a Virtual Storage. |
Adding a New Routes (Host Rout) |
You can input the additional Routing information being configured for a Virtual Storage. |
Creating a New Volume¶
Once the Virtual Storage has been created, proceed to a new Volume creation. Click [ Add New Volume ] in a Virtual Storage, where you would like to create a new Volume.
You need to configure the following items required to input for creating a new Volume.
Volume Name |
This is a name of the Volume being created. NOTE: You need to create a unique name within your Tenant. |
Description |
You can input the description about the Virtual Volume. |
Initiator IQN |
Use an Initiator IQN of a specific Server that will attach to a destination Volume. For more information on how to verify a Initiator IQN, please refer to the following webpage: Block Storage Requirements . NOTE: You can add & modify an initiator IQN later on this procedure. |
Once you have registered the above respective information, click [ Create Volume ].
