11.1.5.1. Install/Update Custom Meter Agent

You can use custom meter function easily by using custom meter agent.
By starting the custom meter agent on the server that you want to monitor, you can automatically acquire various meter values on the target server and register them on the monitoring server. Please refer to the service manual for the meter to be collected by the custom meter agent.
Please refer to How to use custom meter by using some scripts for how to monitor meter which is not supported by custom meter agent.

Install/Update Custom Meter Agent

Customer can install/update custom meter agent by following procedure.
Procedure differs upon OS distribution.

RedHat

  1. Register repository server

Create /etc/yum.repos.d/ecl2mond.repo with following contents.
[ecl2mond]
name=Enterprise Cloud Custom Meter Agent
baseurl=http://repo.ecl.ntt.com/packages/rpms
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
  1. Download and register repository signing public key

# curl -O http://repo.ecl.ntt.com/packages/GPG-KEY-ecl; rpm --import GPG-KEY-ecl
  1. Install / Update

# yum install ecl2mond

Debian OS

  1. Register repository server

Create /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ecl2mond.list with following contents.
deb http://repo.ecl.ntt.com/packages/debs ./

Note

Depending on the OS distribution, the default repository server information /etc/apt/sources.list may not be referenced by the above procedure.
In such case, you need to add following parameter to /etc/apt/sources.list .
deb http://repo.ecl.ntt.com/packages/debs ./
  1. Download and register repository signing public key

# curl -O http://repo.ecl.ntt.com/packages/GPG-KEY-ecl; apt-key add GPG-KEY-ecl
  1. Install / Update

# apt-get update; apt-cache search ecl2mond
# apt-get install ecl2mond

Note

To use custom meter agent, apt-transport-https package is required.
If apt-transport-https package is not installed, please install this by following command.
# apt-get update; apt-cache search apt-transport-https
# apt-get install apt-transport-https

Uninstall Custom Meter Agent.

Customer can uninstall custom meter agent by following procedure.
Procedure differs upon OS distribution.

RedHat

  1. Uninstall

# yum remove ecl2mond

Debian OS

  1. Uninstall

# apt-get remove ecl2mond

Note

Make sure custom meter agent is stopped before uninstall.
