11.2.9. Replacing between different versions¶
The procedure for changing the Load Balancer (redundant configuration) in use to the new Load Balancer version (redundant configuration) is described.
Operations have been checked by Service Provider, in terms of the following combinations of versions.

There are two methods to proceed replacing.
(Characteristics of method 1)
・The new Load Balancer version does not take over The IP address used by The old version
Replace by using other IP address.
・The redundancy cancel time is shorter than method 2.
・The time needed for switching back is shorter than method 2.
(Characteristics of method 2)
・The new firewall version takes overs the IP address used by the old version
Replace by using same IP address
・However, because the MAC address is not taken over, the old MAC address of the ARP table on the communications route and the opposite machine needs to be updated if communications fail.
・The redundancy cancel time is longer than method 1.
・The time needed for switching back is longer than method 1.
