11.2.1. Logging in to a NetScaler VPX

First, to configure a Load Balancer settings, you need to log in to NetScaler VPX. To log in to a Load Balancer, a password, notified when firstly configuring the Load Balancer.

Note

Customer can log in via GUI (HTTP/HTTPS) and CLI(SSH) in 11.0-67.12 and via GUI(HTTP) in 10.5-57.7.

11.2.1.1. Access to NetScaler VPX GUI(HTTP/HTTPS)

Scenario of sample setting

  • HTTP/HTTPS access to LoadBalancer(192.168.1.12) from virtual server.

Enter IP address of LoadBalancer(http://192.168.1.12), then WEB GUI login screen is displayed.
Input [User Name] and [Password] , then click [Login]

  • At the first-time login, input the User Name and the Password displayed when the Load Balancer was created.

  • You are required to log in to Brocade 5600 vRouter (Vyatta) by utilizing the “user-read” account, if you would like to log in as a specific user, who has only the browsing right (permission) .

HTTPS

Enter IP address of LoadBalancer(https://192.168.1.12), then WEB GUI login screen is displayed.
Input [User Name] and [Password] , then click [Login]

Initial Login

Initial setting screen of NetSclaer VPX is displayed at initial login.

Note

When you connect via Internet Explore, click the [ Security ] tab at an Internet Option then [ Customize Level ] , then finally activate [ Active Script ].

Once STEP1 to 4 are completed, configuration can be executed.
  • 1.NetScaler IP Address
    • Already configured. NetScaler IP is the one Service Provider using to manage NetScaler. Customer cannot use this IP address.
  • 2.Subnet IP Address
    • Displayed IP Address customer configured at portal.
  • 3.Host Name, DNS IP Address, and Time Zone
    • Specify Host Name and Time Zone. DNS cannot be configured. Customer is advised that these items will be configured later by clicking “Do it later.”
NetScaler GUI
  • 4.Licenses
    • License will be automatically authenticated in this menu.
    • Click “Do it later” even if error screen shows up after clicking “Licenses” in 11.0-67.12. License is already authenticated.
    • Dashboard of NetScaler VPX portal will be displayed after clicking [Continue].

11.2.1.2. Access to NetScaler VPX CLI(SSH)

Customer need to allow SSH access to the IP address of LoadBalancer in order to access NetScaler VPX via CLI.
After permit SSH access, configuration via CLI is available.

Allow SSH access

  • Click on [System], [Network] and [IPs] in [Configuration] tab.
  • Select target IP addess and click [Edit].

  • Check [SSH] at [Application Access Control] , then click [OK].

Then, execute following command to IP address allowed SSH access. And input password.
