13.1. Backup Control Panel

From the dashboad, open the backup control panel.
Select [ Backup ] as shown below:

Once you have clicked [Backup], a new window will display as pictured below.
Whereas you have not completed the backup settings, only a [Workflow] icon will display.

13.1.1. Setting up Backup

13.1.1.1. Backup Server Requirements

Before installing an agent software into the backup target server, edit each server’s HOSTS file.
Each HOSTS file contains its hostname to generate an installer and an IP address to connect with Common Function Gateways so that a host name resolution becomes available via the backup target server.
Note: The hostname will be registered as a server name displayed for the backup service. For actual usage, we recommend you to use the same name as that of WCL2.0 server.
NOTE: If name other than localhost is configured as “127.0.0.1” in /etc/hosts on Linux, customer need to delete or comment out this section. Otherwise, installation of agent software will be failed.
Note: The IP address described on HOSTS shall be an IP address that can correspond to Common Function Gateways.

Linux:/etc/hosts

13.1.1.2. Download the Respective Agent Software.

Open [Manage Client] from Workflow, [Manage Client] screen will be displayed as below.
After selecting [ Register Client], click [ OK ] at the screen.

When execute backup/restore on ECL2.0, following parameter need to be input/selected at the screen.
  • Client Name : Unique name to distinguish backup target server(Client)

  • hostname: Host name of backup target server

  • OS: OS type of backup target server (Select “Linux” or “Windows”).

  • Client Type : Select ”virtual server / baremetal server in ECL2.0”.

Click [OK].

Note

The client Name will consists of any characters.
Note: Any names that were used for Client Name in the past cannot be registered.
The hostname must be the name set in the 13.1.1.1 chapter.
ClientType select ”virtual server / baremetal server in ECL2.0” basically.
NOTE: Please do not select “Other” unless NTTCom ask you to do so.

Input UUID of server to install Agent software at “UUID of The Client”.
UUID can be verified at ECL 2.0 control panel.
(Example: Move to Tenent —> Server —> Virtual Server —> Instance —> ID in Detail for UUID of Virtual Server)

Note

Select “yes” at [Use Destination NAT] in case of using Destination NAT to connect backup service.
If no, select “No”.

If select “No” at “Use Destination NAT?”, the URL of download for Agent software will be displayed.
This current URL should be taken notes to use installation.
In case that you have lost this shown URL, you need to retry to take an download procedure of an Agent software to get another once again.

13.1.1.3. Register Agent software

After you have downloaded an Agent Software upon a Server, install the newly downloaded files.
“Installation was completed.” will be displayed at completion of install.

Make sure install software as Administrator in case of installing agent to Windows.
“Installation was completed.” will be displayed at completion of install.

After the newly downloaded file installation has completed, any Agent software will be registered.
To verify whether the relevant registration has been successfully done, select [ Check Client ] at the Wolkflow [ Manage Client ] screen, and finally click [ OK ]

After selecting a specific Server, click [ OK ].

If the registration has been sucessfuly completed, Ready will display.

The registration server list on [Clients] will display just after relogin.

13.1.2. Deleting a Client / Uninstall Agent Software

13.1.2.1. Deleting a Client

Warning

By this procedure, all of backup date of target server (client) will be deleted.

Click [ Manage Client ] from [ Workflow ].
After selecting “Remove Client”, a confirmation screen is displayed stating “Operation Initiated”. Click the “OK” button.
Note: Once remove client is done, backup date will be deleted and cannot be restored.

After selecting any target server for registration deletion, click [OK].

Verify backup target server, then click [OK].

You can check registered server is deleted at [Clients (Personal Data)].
Please verify after re-login.

13.1.2.2. Uninstall Agent software

Warning

Please do this procedure only when uninstalling agent software for reasons such as failure of client registration work by any chance

Uninstall a Agent Software from the server.
Unistall from the server will not remove server registration itself. In case you wish to terminate this menu, please remove server registration.

[Linux]

Make sure information of Agent Software installed is displayed by [commvault status] command.

Make sure commvault related process is running by [commault list] command.

Execute [cvpkgrm] command to uninstall.

Click [Next] button.

Press the space key to select “Remove All Packages Locally”, then press the “Next” button.

Click [Next] button.

Click [Finish].

{Windows]

Open [Control Panel], then click [Uninstall a program] icon.

Launch [Uninstall] from [Commvault ContentStore]

Select [Uninstall all packages in the instance], then click [>} at right side of bottom.

Verify [Uninstall Summary] information, then click [>] at right side of windows.

[Uninstallation Progress] is displayed while uninstall.

Click [Finish] button after uninstall completion.
