2.4. Backup

This configuration guide provides an example of backup procedures that uses Arcserve installed on Windows Server 2012 R2.
Relevant drivers and tools are recognized at the timing of restore media creation and restoring. Therefore, please make sure to install and save those in advance on your preferred place of the backup target server (where the server creates this restore media) so that you can backup them entirely.

2.4.1. Drivers after Restore

When restoring to a virtual server on ECL2.0, a VirtIO’s NIC driver will become uninstalled after the restore.
Therefore, it is essential to install necessary drivers (all files stored in the NetKVM folder, viostor folder and Ballon folder respectively.) Before starting a backup, please save the drivers to the backup source server.
Note: File to be downloaded:

From the downloaded file above, obtain the NetKVM folder, viostor folder and Ballon folder.
As the example screen below shows, there is no NIC recognized when opening the Device Manager screen on the restored OS. If the driver has been saved in the backup destination, you can install it immediately after restoring so that it can be recognized. Please refer to the Arcserve Configuration Guide: Restore for actual procedures.
