About Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Applications

  • Provision of official image templates
    • Official image templates of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) for SAP Applications which can be used on virtual server are provided.

    • Customers are provided RHEL environment supported by SAP for running SAP Applications on Enterprise Cloud 2.0 Virtual Server by this menu.

Note

About support information of SAP Applications, Customers are requested that they check the official documents(Product Availability Matrix and SAP Notes) provided by SAP.

  • Provision of the provider license
    • RHEL for SAP Applications license under CCSP agreement (certified cloud provider contract) is provided.

Note

OS License is included in this menu; however, Customers are advised to bring in their own SAP Application license.


About server / dedicated hypervisor that can use RHEL for SAP Applications

The use of RHEL for SAP Applications is only for the use of the official image template on the virtual server.
The method for using RHEL for SAP Applications with each server / dedicated hypervisor is as follows.

Available Repository

  • This menu provides with the original repository server.

  • NTT Com provides software maintenance, such as bug-fix and security patches, through yum, the package management system of Linux distributions. Customers need to execute yum by themselves.

  • The following 6 repositories are required to provide RHEL ver 7.x

    1. Channels cover only “Base”, “Optional”, “RH Common”, packages that can be provided by Red Hat within the CCSP license range, and custom channels for SAP Applications.

    2. Type: “RPM” and “Debug” are available.

Initial Username Settings

OS user name is set by the default value of this menu.

The password for the first login with the OS user name is set with the prescribed value in this menu.

About OS Timezone / Language / Character code / Locale / Keyboard, they are set with the default value of this menu.

Security Settings (Windows Firewall Settings)

OS security setting (iptables / SELinux) is set by the prescribed value in this menu.

SSH Settings

The OS’s sshd conf setting is set by the default value of this menu.

Dedicated tool setting

Configure the tool to work with the virtual server.

Other Settings

It is set for each OS initial state, additional PKG, repository, Ipv6, NTP server, DNS server, default gateway.

Conditions of Usage with Other Menus

  • It is necessary to apply with a virtual server as a set.

  • In order to carry out OS license authentication, a common function gateway is required. Be sure to sign up when using RHEL for SAP Applications.

  • In addition, if the common function gateway is removed while RHEL for SAP Applications OS license is being authenticated, the repository server will be unavailable.

  • Billing Structures
    It is a pay-per-use(/min) with a monthly limit.
    When the flavor is changed during the month, the monthly fee will be the maximum fee of the maximum vCPU number.
  • Billed Items
    The root disk with the OS stored, and the volume will be attached instance.
template of this menu are attached to one instance, the fee of this menu will be added according to the number of volumes.
Depending on the flavor of the instance to which the volume is attached, the price of this menu differs.

Support Method

  • NTT Com supports initial setup, the first login to server and OS license authentication.

  • NTT Com does not support(survey, help, advice) to requests from customers regarding how to deal with problems related to installation, setup, basic functions that customers faced in relation to licensed products used by customers .

  • By using the OS license, customers can use the “software access” and “software maintenance” functions of the software subscription of Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Applications. Please follow the instructions from NTT Com about the procedure and access method to use those functions.

Restrictions

  • Customers are prohibited from utilize RHUI (CDS) server for anything other than this menu.

  • OS Image Handovers in between Baremetal Server and in Virtual Servers are duly prohibited.

  • NTT Com does not support the OS version that Red Hat support is expired. And NTT Com does not extend such expiration dates.

  • When Red Hat announces the end of support, or if any of Server/Dedicated Hypervisor is going to be end its support, NTT Com will announce the notification on end of support to Customers in advance.

  • NTT Com cannot directly disclose the needed information for installation, such as activation key, subscription number, to Customers in writing or any other methods.

  • Please do not change the setting information in / etc / hosts at the time of provision unless you specify from us.

  • Please do not uninstall vm-dump-metrics. If uninstalled, SAP will not support.

  • RHEL cluster with RHEL High Availability Add-On is not supported.

  • Customers are advised to bring in their own SAP Application license and software.
