VMware ESXi for BYOL

  • This menu provides VMware ESXi in the evaluation mode state on the bare metal server.
  • *Based on the ISO image, we will provide it in the state of completing the installation work.
  • This menu enable Customers to bring their own license (called BYOL hereafter) of VMware ESXi.


About VMware ESXi for BYOL server / Dedicated Hypervisor that can use official image template

  • This menu can be applied and used only when using bare metal server.

In the case of application at the customer portal, the segment type is set to vlan and the segment ID is set to 3.

Regarding the segment ID, the customer can change it to any ID by himself after completing the server creation. In addition, when creating a server with the API, the customer can specify the segment ID.

Conditions for Usage with Other Services

  • Customers needs to subscribe in combination with Baremetal Server.

  • In the event that Customers utilize NTP Server that is provided in this service, they will essentially be required to obtain the Common Function Gateway. If Customers would like to request such, they are suggested that they request for subscription.

  • VMware ESXi for BYOL is assumed that Customers bring their own license.

  • The license type is evaluation mode when NTT Com provides this menu. Customers need to purchase the license as well as the maintenance through VMware or resellers.

Restrictions

  • Switching from this menu to the dedicated hypervisor vSphere menu is not available. (The customer can not switch to a license based on vCloud Air Network program.)

  • In case the Customers’ evaluation mode license expires, they should renew the license through VMware, Inc. or their resellers.
