    • Customers are provided Official Image Template of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (called RHEL hereafterOS hereafter).

  • Provides Cloud Provider License
    • Customers are being provided with RHEL license which corresponds to CCSP (that stands for Certified Cloud and Service Provider Certification).

    • *In the event that Customers are interested in utilizing BYOL (that stands for Bring-Your-Own-License, where Customers bringing in their own License to perform in their platform environment) over Baremetal Server, they are recommended that they read Service Description Red Hat Enterprise Linux for BYOL.

  • When Customers utilize RHEL with Server / Dedicated Hypervisor, following two ways are available: 1. To utilize Official Image Template; 2. To bring their own OS image.

Features of Menu

    Customers can request to subscribe RHEL OS over the Server via Customer Portal / API.

    It is possible to use software bug fixes provided by OS vendors, security patches, etc.

Available Functions

Official Image Template

  • RHEL is provided as Official Image Template.

  • Available OS versions are described in Menu section.

Available Repository

  • This menu provides with the original repository server.

  • NTT Com provides software maintenance, such as bug-fix and security patches, through yum, the package management system of Linux distributions. Customers need to execute yum by themselves.

  • Following five repositories are available NTT Com needs for providing RHEL ver 7.x,

    1. Channel: “Base”, “Optional” , “RH Common” and “Extended Update Support” are available. These packages are provided by Red Hat under the conditions of CCSP license.

    2. Type: “RPM” and “Debug” are available.

  • Following repositories are available NTT Com needs for providing RHEL ver 8.x,

    1. Channel: “Base” and “AppStream” are available. These packages are provided by Red Hat under the conditions of CCSP license.

Other Settings

OS Initial Status, Additional PKG, Repositories, Ipv6, NTP Server, DNS Server, and Default Gateways are respectively set.

In addition, when there is no change from the default setting of Protocol value in RHEL 7.4 or later, it is not displayed according to the OS specifications.

  • For RHEL7.3 on vSphere ESXi, PermitRootLogin is set to no. For RHEL7.5/RHEL8.1, PermitRootLogin is set to yes.

  • When Customers create a Server, they can create SSH key pairs, as well as they can utilize their existing ones. Maximum number of key pair per Tenent is 120.

Conditions for Usage with Other Services

  • This menu must be combined with either two menus:
    1.Customers can subscribe in combination with Baremetal Server or Virtual Server.
    2.Customers are required to make a request for subscribing Dedicated Hypervisor first, and then place an order for this menu separately.
  • In order for Customers to activate OS License, Customers are required to obtain the route for common function Gateways.

  • Repository Server will not be available if Customers disconnect Common Function Gateway where RHEL OS license authentication has done.

  • Customers are required to request for subscriptions in combination with any of the two: Baremetal Server / Virtual Server.


Minimum Use Period

  • This menu does not have minimum use period.

  • Billing Structures
    Fixed Monthly billing is applied.
  • Billed Items
    Billing will be made based on the unit of Baremetal Server used more than a month.
*For subscriptions of Baremetal Server(s) which Customers utilize concurrently will also be charged.
*In case Customers delete and re-create Baremetal Server within the same month, the monthly fee of this menu will be based on the total quantity of Baremetal Servers utilized by Customers.
*Depending of the favor of the baremetal server,the fees in this menu may be different.

Virtual Server

  • Billing Structures
    It is a pay-per-use(/min) with a monthly limit.
    When the flavor is changed during the month, the monthly fee will be the maximum fee of the maximum vCPU number.
  • Billed Items
    The root disk with the OS stored, and the volume will be attached instance.
*In the event that this menu’s Official Image Template OS is stored within a Volume and is attached multiply to one Instance, this menu’s basic billing is added depending upon the number of Volume.
*Based on the Flavor for the Instance that is being attached with Volume(s), this menu’s billing will shift.
*Relations amongst Instance, Volume, and Virtual Server’s Instance Flavor, please refer to the Virtual Server Service Description:

Dedicated hypervisor

  • Billing Structures
    Fixed Monthly billing is applied.
  • Billed Items
    The maximum concurrent use VM number generated within one tenant during the current month is charged.
    1 Subscription will be charged on a 2VM Guest OS basis. (One subscription rounded up if the maximum simultaneous use VM number is odd)

Restrictions

  • Customers are prohibited from utilize RHUI (CDS) server for anything other than this menu.

  • OS Image Handovers in between Baremetal Server and in Virtual Servers are duly prohibited.

  • NTT Com does not support the OS version that Red Hat support is expired. And NTT Com does not extend such expiration dates.

  • When Red Hat announces the end of support, or if any of Server/Dedicated Hypervisor is going to be end its support, NTT Com will announce the notification on end of support to Customers in advance.

  • NTT Com cannot directly disclose the needed information for installation, such as activation key, subscription number, to Customers in writing or any other methods.

  • This menu is prohibited to activate KVM and create RHEL virtual machine on this server.

  • Customers are prohibited to change configuration in /etc/hosts unless NTTCom announce.

  • Be sure to connect to the common function gateway in order to get correct billing information. If we find out at a later date that we are not able to charge you properly, we will charge you the difference retroactively from the time you started using the service.

  • Major OS upgrades of virtual servers created from official image templates, bare metal servers, and guest images on dedicated hypervisors are prohibited in order to get correct billing information. If we find out at a later date that we are not able to charge you properly, we will charge you the difference retroactively from the time you started using the service.
