4.2.1. About This Menu

4.2.1.1. Overview

This menu provides internet connectivity, which is configured under redundant infrastructures for Customers who subscribe Enterprise Cloud 2.0.
This menu provides global IP addresses (IPv4), which is necessary to connect with the Internet.

4.2.1.2. Features

Following are features of Internet Connectivity:

  • This menu provides one-stop offerings of our proven network and cloud services.

  • Physically redundant infrastructure of Internet Connectivity provides Customers with stable Internet connection.

  • This menu provides self-management function that Customers can manage their Internet Connectivity, so that this can accommodate flexible scale-up/scale-out according to their Internet traffic.

  • Monthly fee is per-minute-basis with capped pricing, which allows Customers not to be worry about the cost increase due to the unexpected burst of their Internet traffic.

  • This menu provides Internet Connectivity infrastructure, which is bundled with DDoS mitigation service.

4.2.2. Available Functions

4.2.2.1. List of Functions

The functions available from this service menu are as follows.

4.2.2.2. Description of Functions

Internet Gateway Function

Internet Gateway is a virtual router to implement connectivity between the Internet and Tenants, and has following five functions;

Internet Connectivity

Provides the connectivity with Internet provider.

The available number of Internet Connectivity per Tenant is 4.
The backbone Internet provider is not open to the public.
Customers are not allowed to change the backbone Internet provider.

Gateway Interface

Provides following two functions:
1.Function to connect with Logical Network.
2.Function to assign IP addresses to Gateway Interface.
Only one Logical Network can connect with one Internet Gateway.
Customers need to assign three IP addresses, as Internet Gateway has redundant configuration with VRRP.
If there is an overlap of VRRP ID on the same Logical network, communication may not be completed normally. Therefore, please specify an ID that does not overlap with other devices.
Available IPv4 addresses Customers can set to Gateway Interface are limited to the global IP addresses provided by this service, or private IP addresses.
Only one Logical Network can connect with one Internet Gateway.It cannot connect with multiple Internet gateway.

BGP route advertisement / Static Routing Function

Provides functions to set Static Route and advertise route to Internet using BGP.

Maximum number of static routes to be set in here is 32.
An available IP address to be set as destination is only the global IP address which Customers subscribe with this service.
The BGP is able to advertise destination address of Static Route to Internet.
A global IP addresses are assigned / provided associated with the Internet Gateway. As such, Customers cannot set the global IP addresses as a destination network for static routing, in case these addresses are associated with different Internet Gateway.

Bandwidth Settings

Customers can set bandwidth of Internet Connectivity.

Global IP Addresses

Provides global IP addresses (IPv4) necessary to connect with the Internet. (Customers need to manage the global IP addresses, based on the subnet masks)

Customers cannot modify the assigned IP address after subscribing this menu.
Once deleted the Global IP, Customers cannot reuse the deleted IP addresses.
The upper limit of global IP is four subnet.

Note

This menu does not provide NAT. Please be aware that Customers need to configure NAT in Firewall (Vyatta), etc. in case they need NAT.

Self-Management Function

The customers can operate following actions via Customer Portal / API:

Customers can modify Internet Gateway settings via Customer Portal and API.
When Customers modify QoS option with this operation, they modify the subscription of this menu simultaneously.

When Customers delete Internet Gateway, they need to delete Public IP, Gateway Interface and static routing in advance. Please delete in the order of static routing”, “Gateway Interface”, “Public IP”.”

This provides Customers self-management function that they can manage global IP addresses via Customer Portal / API.

Note

  • If VRRPID overlaps on the same logical network, communication may not be performed normally, so please specify a different value.

  • Customers are duly advised that the IP Address cannot be modified. Hence, if Customers would like to change / modify the IP Address, they are required to delete and then add a new connectivity using the Logical Network.

There are two types of menu plan for Internet Connectivity: Best Effort & Guaranteed Bandwidth.
Customers can select the plan depending on the combination of type as well as needed bandwidth.

4.2.3.3. Important Notes of Subscription

Customers can subscribe global IP addresses based on the following subnet mask. The maximum number of subnet mask that Customers can subscribe per Tenant is 4.
The maximum number of subnet mask that Customers can subscribe per Tenant is 4. They cannot subscribe more than 5 subnets.
NTT Com may delete the subnet masks in case Customers have more than 4 subnet masks of global IP addresses.

4.2.4. Terms and Conditions

4.2.4.1. Conditions for Usage with Other Menus

This service menu can be combined with all other service menus. Connections with the Logical Network is only possible through connectivities to the Data Plane.

There is no minimum contract period.

4.2.6. Quality of Service

4.2.6.1. Support Coverage

Customers are noted that functions enlisted in this service description’s chapter 2 (2.1 List of Available Functions) are being covered for support.
For Customers’ information, it is advised that failed attempt at Customers’ end in settings (such as static routing settings, etc.) will not be covered for support even Interface it is after the subscription is already started with this service.

4.2.6.2. Quality of Operation

The quality of operation in this menu is based on the standardized SLA for Enterprise Cloud 2.0.

4.2.6.3. SLA

The SLA of this menu is based on the standardized SLA for Enterprise Cloud 2.0; for the details please refer to the Service Description of SLA.

4.2.7. Notes

  • Communication to the Internet gateway implements flow restriction to protect the service infrastructure. Please do not monitor Ping addressed to Internet gateway.

  • For the communication that passes through the Internet gateway, we do not carry out the above flow limitation, we will provide quality and speed according to the contract plan.

  • MTU size supports up to 1500 bytes.
