Available Functions

List of Functions

The functions available from this service menu are as follows.

Function

Overview

Internet Gateway Function

Provides gateway function to conncect Logical Network deployed within Enterprise Cloud 2.0 with Internet.
Provaides Global IP necesarry to connect with Internet.

Self-Management Function

Description of Functions

Internet Gateway Function

Internet Gateway is a virtual router to implement connectivity between the Internet and Tenants, and has following five functions;

Function

Descriptions

Notes

Internet Connectivity

Provides the connectivity with Internet provider.

  • The available number of Internet Connectivity per Tenant is 4.

  • The backbone Internet provider is not open to the public.

  • Customers are not allowed to change the backbone Internet provider.

Gateway Interface

  • Provides following two functions:

  • 1.Function to connect with Logical Network.

  • 2.Function to assign IP addresses to Gateway Interface.

  • Only one Logical Network can connect with one Internet Gateway.

  • Customers need to assign three IP addresses, as Internet Gateway has redundant configuration with VRRP.

  • If there is an overlap of VRRP ID on the same Logical network, communication may not be completed normally. Therefore, please specify an ID that does not overlap with other devices.

  • Available IPv4 addresses Customers can set to Gateway Interface are limited to the global IP addresses provided by this service, or private IP addresses.

  • Only one Logical Network can connect with one Internet Gateway. It cannot connect with multiple Internet gateway.

BGP route advertisement / Static Routing Function

Provides functions to set Static Route and advertise route to Internet using BGP.

  • Maximum number of static routes to be set in here is 32.

  • An available IP address to be set as destination is only the global IP address which Customers subscribe with this service.

  • Do not set a network that includes the following IP address and has a longer mask length than the following IP address. The operation of BGP and VRRP may be affected by Ron Guest match and communication may be interrupted.

    • Gateway IPv4 address, primary IPv4 address, secondary IPv4 address of the gateway interface (G1 / P1 / S1 in the gateway interface management section)

  • The BGP is able to advertise destination address of Static Route to Internet.

  • A global IP addresses are assigned / provided associated with the Internet Gateway. As such, Customers cannot set the global IP addresses as a destination network for static routing, in case these addresses are associated with different Internet Gateway.

Bandwidth Settings

Customers can set bandwidth of Internet Connectivity.

N/A

Global IP Addresses

Provides global IP addresses (IPv4) necessary to connect with the Internet. (Customers need to manage the global IP addresses, based on the subnet masks)

  • Customers cannot modify the assigned IP address after subscribing this menu.

  • Once the global IP is deleted, the customer will not be able to use the same address again.

  • The upper limit of global IP is four subnet.

Note

This menu does not provide NAT. Please be aware that Customers need to configure NAT in Firewall (Vyatta), etc. in case they need NAT.

  • There are two types of menu plan for Internet Connectivity: Best Effort & Guaranteed Bandwidth.

  • Customers can select the plan depending on the combination of type as well as needed bandwidth.

    • Besteffort plan

      • Specified bandwidth will be set as the maximum value of the transmission speed.

      • Maximum speed is the theoretical maximum, not guaranteed.

      • The communication speed may be greatly reduced depending on the congestion status of the line.

      • If you need a stable communication speed, please use the bandwidth reservation plan.

    • Guaranteed Bandwidth Plan

      • NTT Com provides the guaranteed transmission speed up to the designated bandwidth.

      • Stable throughput is expected because we have designed with enough margin to secure the bandwidth of the customer’s traffic.
