Solution Insight (Formerly CMP)

Overview

The Solution Insight is a platform for holistic visibility and control of an increasingly sprawling and disparate ICT infrastructure estate. It provides a single pane of glass into understanding the state, performance and events occurring within and around the infrastructure and provides controls to respond accordingly.

Hybrid

  • Solution Insight can manage a hybrid portfolio of cloud infrastructure, provided by Service Provider (example - Enterprise Cloud) or 3rd party providers (example - Amazon Web Services, VMware vSphere)

Discovery

  • Solution Insight is able to discover accounts, resources and associated performance metrics, logs and spends from multiple IaaS through available API, federated and on demand

Visibility

  • In Solution Insight customers can define the owners of and add tags / meta data to the discovered resources and visualize them with organizational context included

  • Customers can also allocate their cloud spend back to applications and departments and monitor the cost on the go against the budget set by the budget owners

  • In addition a shareable dashboard with custom widgets is enabled for customers to tailor the views for different roles and users.

Management

  • Solution Insight enables customers to create access control policies to govern their multi cloud environment

In order for Solution Insight to discover resources and retrieve data from 3rd party platforms or customer on-premise systems, the providers or customers have to supply them via accessible API.   • Solution Insight can detect workload in vCenter environment. In this case, you need to prepare a vCenter API endpoint that can be connected with Layer 3 connectivity, and also you need to input vCenter user credential information for data synchronization to Solution Insight.

  • Cloudn Compute FLAT type / VPC type Closed NW can not be managed by Solution Insight.

Subscriptions Method

Solution Insight is provided as one of the product items of Enterprise Cloud and before starting to use Solution Insight, customers need to fist have a valid Enterprise Cloud subscription. Details are described below.

  • For Enterprise Cloud 2.0 customers, Solution Insight will be automatically activated upon the creation of the first contract on the customer portal and later customers can apply using the Solution Insight service order form to add their Enterprise Cloud 1.0 accounts (where applicable).

  • For Enterprise Cloud 1.0 customers, a service order form needs to be issued to activate the Solution Insight service and synchronize the Enterprise Cloud 1.0 account and should the customer subscribe to Enterprise Cloud 2.0 later, Solution Insight will be automatically enabled if not yet.

  • Solution Insight will be de-activated in the below two scenarios
    • For customers who have a valid Enterprise Cloud 2.0 contract, Solution Insight will be de-activated where customers delete all Enterprise Cloud 2.0 contracts and in the meanwhile the Enterprise Cloud 1.0 accounts (where applicable) are not yet synchronised in Solution Insight, regardless of the availability of 3rd party provider accoutns in Solution Insight.

    • Where customers use Enterprise Cloud 1.0 only, Solution Insight will be de-activated upon the termination of customers’ Enterprise Cloud 1.0 contracts, regardless of the availability of 3rd party provider accoutns in Solution Insight.

  • The Solution Insight service for a customer will be activated in one of the four Solution Insight global sites (Japan, United Kingdom, United States, Singapore) depending on where the customer’s Enterprise Cloud contract is located.

How to add to Solution Insight

Enterprise Cloud 1.0

For Enterprise Cloud 1.0 customers, a service order form needs to be issued to activate the Solution Insight service and synchronize the Enterprise Cloud 1.0 account, and should the customer subscribe to Enterprise Cloud 2.0 later, Solution Insight will be automatically enabled if not yet.

Enterprise Cloud 2.0

After the Solution Insight service is activated, customers can self-service setup their Enterprise Cloud 2.0 accounts (where applicable) that they want to synchronize in Solution Insight by entering the corresponding credentials, and more than one accounts can be setup for one customer.

Quality of Service

Support

  • Solution Insight service is supported through the Enterprise Cloud support plans that customers subcribe to and please refer to the Enterprise Cloud support specs for details

  • Solution Insight user support does not cover any Solution Insight service abnormalities or dysfunctions that are caused by the bugs or service unavailability that occur within or around the 3rd party cloud platforms that customers setup in Solution Insight (example AWS)


Monitoring

  • Solution Insight service and platform availability is monitored 24 / 7 by Service Provider operators

  • Solution Insight’s connections with integrated cloud platforms (including 3rd party) are also monitored 24 / 7 by Service Provider operators
