List of Available Functions

Although customers can Create / Delete vSphere ESXi server (hereinafter, Server), the management of the server is carried out in the baremetal server menu.
Please note that some bare metal server menu functions are not available. (The difference from the baremetal server menu is described in the dedicated hypervisor common section)

About the User name/Locale setting/Security setting(Firewall and SSH), is set with a default value of this menu

Zone/Group

   

Customers can either specify the zone/group, to which the server belongs, or set it as random (Any Zone).

Access and Security

Administrator Password

 

Customers will be able to set a password for the root account.

Network

Select Logical Network

 
Customers can set up a logical network created in advance as a server.
Customers should set minimum one Logical Network (Data Plane), and maximum upto four Logical Networks (two Data Plane and two Storage Plane).
A maximum or 2 Logical Networks (data plane:1/storage plane:1) is set.
The Logical Network to be connected to the Common Function Gateways, for which the customer had subscribed in advance, will be set automatically.
 

Set IP Address

 

Customers can set the IP address for the server VMkernel interface.

Disk

Set Disk Partitioning

Disk partitioning

The default value of this menu is set.

   

RAID level

Set the RAID level setting with the default value.

Meta Data

   

Customers can set server metadata when providing servers.

Descriptions of Each Function

Create Server

Server Details

Server Name

Customers can set the server name created by the customer.
  • Customers can set a Server name via Customer Portal / API.

  • Customers can set sever name which is also configured as OS hostmame of an Official Image Template.

  • Please note that the server name displayed in the Customer Portal will not be changed even if the customer changes the vSphere ESXi host name.

  • The server name can only be changed via API.


Server ID

ID given by this menu for each server unit.
  • Server ID is unique within a Region.

  • Customers cannot change server ID.

  • Server ID displayed on the Baremetal Server menu side and the server ID displayed on the Dedicated Hypervisor side are different.
    (Please provide NTT Com with the server ID displayed on the Dedicated Hypervisor side in case of inquiries using tickets, etc.)

Available characters: a-z A-Z 0-9 Character “-” cannot be used at the beginning and the ending of a sentence.
Length of characters: 1-255 (byte)


Flavor

Customers can provision Baremetal Server by selecting a server from the list of Flavors via Customer Portal / API.
  • It is also possible to provision a mix of different flavors within a Tenant.

  • Configuration of each flavor is the same as the Baremetal Server menu flavors.
    Please refer to the menu list for available flavors.


Images

Customer can choose a hypervisor to pre-install on the baremetal server.


Zone/Group

Customers can choose whether to accommodate server accommodation groups either in two groups or randomly.

Network setting

Based on the network setting designated by the customer, logical network ports are automatically created for data plane/storage plane physical NIC ports (2 ports each).
The network settings are all provided with physical redundant NIC port.
*In addition to the above, port settings for connecting to common function gateways are set automatically.

Logical Network setting

Customers can designate their own parameters for this setting, other than the setting to connect to Common Function Gateways.
However, the segment type can only be vlan for setting.

VLAN segment ID 3 is used by NTT Com, so customers cannot use it.

  • Each data plane / storage plane of the logical network can only set one segment ID in the phase of creating servers.

  • Based on the network settings specified by the customer above, ports of Logical Network are automatically created for physical NIC ports (2 ports) of each plane and provided with communication redundancy of physical NIC ports secured. Will be

The Standard Switch is created for the data plane and for the storage plane and it is set to the physical NIC port of the baremetal server for each plane type in each of the Switches.

Hard Disk Settings

Disk partitioning is installed according to the standard setting of vSphereESXI. (It is used in the system domain of ESXi, and the remaining volume is provided as data storage volume).



Meta Data

Customers can set the metadata of servers when they are provided in the form of key / value pairs.
Customers are noted that there are restrictions over parameters as below:

Delete Server

Server selection

Customers can select the server to delete from the Customer Portal/API.
Deletion cannot be made through operations on the Baremetal Server menu side.
If the deletion is made via the Customer Portal, a re-confirmation message will be displayed. However, please note that the re-confirmation will not be shown if the deletion is made via API.


Deletion of data within disk

Once Customers delete the Baremetal Server, internal data which they stored within hard disk will be erased automatically.
