Overview

1

The provision of licensed image template

This function provides image templates, for which the provider license has been set, for virtual machines created on a vSphere ESXi /Hyper-V server, which was created by the customer with the vSphere/Hyper-V menu.

Provision of ISO images storing the installer

This function provides ISO files storing the installer for virtual machines created on a vSphere ESXi /Hyper-V server, which was created by the customer with the vSphere/Hyper-V menu.
Customers can use them as provider licensed software by setting the license issued by the license issuance function under “3”.

License issuance

This function issues provider the license key to be set on software by the customer.

License switch function

This function provides a function to use a chargeable software license for ECL 2.0 later for virtual machines built on Hypervisor of NTTCom’s vSphere / Hyper-V menu.

Display of the usage record of each license

Customers can acquire the usage status of each license.

Note

If customer import virtual machines built with NTTCom provider license template from NTTCom cloud service (ECL 1.0 / BHE etc) to the dedicated hypervisor, NTTCom needs to apply the ECL 2.0 provider license using the license switch function .



Descriptions of Each Function

The provision of licensed image template

Customers download an applicable image template via the Customer Portal or API.
  • Please deploy the image in the virtual environment, which was established using the Dedicated Hypervisor vSphere/Hyper-V menu, and create the virtual machine.

  • Due to the fact that the required license is already installed on the created virtual machine, the customer can immediately start the use.



Provision of ISO images storing the installer

Customers download an ISO image via the Customer Portal or API.
  • Please issue the said ISO image via the Customer Portal or API.

  • Mount the image on an arbitrary virtual machine in a virtual environment, which was established using the Dedicated Hypervisor vSphere/Hyper-V menu, and execute the installer.

Note

Apply the issued license to the created virtual machine.



License issuance

Customers issue the designated license product key via the Customer Portal or API.


License Switch

Customers will grant information necessary for license aggregation from NTTCom to a given virtual machine via the customer portal or API.
  • When using this function, customers need to specify the hostname of the specified virtual machine or the uuid that is granted when imported the dedicated hypervisor.

  • Refer to the tutorial for how to check uuid.



Checking the usage status of each license

Customers can acquire the usage status of each license.
Please refer to the Service Descriptions of each OS/software for the available items of usage status.

License switch function

Scope

Please use the license switch function when importing the private image of RHEL / Windows Server in this menu.
Also, if you import it as a private image to ECL 2.0 of RHEL / Windows Server, the usage pattern of the license becomes the following three patterns.
1.BYOL

A method of using the image with customer license as it is on ECL 2.0

2.Continued use of provider license

A method of bring image on ECL2.0 with provider license customer used in Cloud service other than ECL2.0.

3.License Switch

A method of bring image with customers license to switch provider license on ECL2.0

The license switch function in this menu can only be used when 2. continuing to use the provider license and 3. when performing the license switch.
