Backup

Overview

Overview

By using this service, customers can rapidly back up/ restore operating systems and data without having to backup software and construct individual storage system.

  • Customers can backup/restore directories and files on servers in the region on which agent software has been installed.

  • Customers can select to store backup at the same region of the target server (Local Store) or both local and another different region (Double Store).

  • If you use Double Store function, Customer Data will be transferred to the location customer selected. Customer will agree to the transfer of the Customer Data upon using of the function.

Register /Remove Server

  • Customers will download the agent software from the web server designated by NTT Com and install it on the target server.

  • Customer can start backup by selecting target server from the list of servers which has been already installed agent software.

  • When the customer deletes backup target servers from the list of servers on GUI, the servers will not longer be on the list of backup target servers . Backup data will also be deleted.

  • After deleting servers from the list of backup target servers on GUI, the customer can also register the servers back to the list of backup target servers.

Backup

  • Customers can select the backup execution type (immediate, scheduled) and set the backup data retention period of 7 days, 30 days and 365 days for each server.

  • Customers can acquire a backup of the entire boot volume, including the OS. (System backup)

  • Customers can backup the entire data or specified part (File Backup).

  • You can execute only one backup at a time for each target server.

  • Customers can acquire information regarding backup execution status and whether or not it is successful.

  • Customers can stop backup that is being executed. Customers cannot restart backup from the stopped point.

  • The target server needs to have communication with the backup server on the common function gateway (Please check the common function gateway service manual for backup server address and port number)

  • The backup server can only back up from the server of the address directly connected (L2 connection) to the common function gateway segment.
If you are backing up a server that is not connected to common function gateway segment, you must set NAT (SNAT / DNAT) on the NW device (Managed Firewall etc) yourself, then set the translated address at client registration We need to receive it.
This menu does not include the cost of the network device and the setting work, please implement it yourself.

Note

The minimum retention period for this menu is to guarantee the retention period for acquired backup data.
Therefore, you can restore the backup beyond the minimum retention period.
Also, if immediate backup was used,The backup of the latest generation will not be deleted after the guarantee period. The fee will continue to occur.
Saved backups are deleted only when deleting client.

  • Information such as success or failure of the restore can be viewed.

  • You can stop running restore.

Report

  • You can view the backup success or failure of all backup target servers in the tenant and detailed information (start time, end time, capacity of backup target data, etc.) in a list.

  • Report can be downloaded as an external file (CSV format)

  • Only a maximum of 2000 records for the most recent 14 days after backup, is displayed.

Menu

  • This menu can select immediate and schedule as the backup execution timing, and further you can select the schedule from the backup acquisition cycle and minimum retention period.

  • Depending on service failure or maintenance, backup may not be able to be acquired. Customers must check their own backup acquisition status.

  • In case of situations, such as backup target server not running, agent being stopped on the target server, backup target server having failures, backup cannot be acquired. Please check the backup acquisition status from the portal and execute the recovery process as necessary in case it was not acquired.

  • This service does not guarantee the normality of backup data. Customers must restore from backup data in their discretive timing and confirm that backup data is normal.

  • If data is updated while backup is being acquired, the integrity of backup data may be lost. Please acquire backup after securing a data consistency on the customer’s end.

  • Customers cannot specify the backup acquisition starting time.

  • Depending on service congestion or backup acquisition capacity, the backup acquisition time may shift from the set time or the time from the start to completion may change.

  • Once the customer terminates this service, the customer’s stored backup data is automatically deleted.

  • If you change the retention period, the minimum retention period of the backup data acquired before the change will not be changed.

  • Servers outside of the region cannot be covered by backup/restoration.

  • You cannot simultaneously perform system backup and file backup.

  • Customers are not able to run system restore and file restore at the same time.

  • In the case of using Double Store, the service side does not assume any responsibility for various penalties and damage caused when the backup data contains data prohibiting taking out to the country and outside the country.
Please check the local laws and regulations, regulations and regulations of the local storage place and the double storage place by yourself.
  • Data transfer to the Double Store (remote site) is best effort. (we aim for synchronization within 24 hours) It does not guarantee synchronization in real time.

  • Log out and log in again when switching tenants. If you do not log out, the target client may not be displayed.
