Overview

Service Menu Overview

  • By applying this menu, you can use the license of backup software that runs on Enterprise Cloud 2.0 (ECL 2.0) on a monthly basis.

  • The backup software provided in this menu can be used for migration from on-premises environment to ECL 2.0 and storage and recovery to remote locations.


Features

  • Customers can use backup software with monthly billing.

  • You can perform system image backup and data backup of ECL2.0 virtual server, virtual machine on dedicated hypervisor, and bare metal server.

  • Customers can migrate server to different server type among Virtual Server, Dedicated Hypervisor (vSphere ESXi) and Bare Metal Server.

  • Systems and data located on ECL2.0 external environment such as on-premise can be migrated to ECL2.0.

  • It can be used for remote storage and recovery, such as between ECL 2.0 and ECL 2.0 and ECL 2.0 regions, as well as between ECL 2.0 and ECL 2.0 external environments, such as on-premises.

  • Inquiries about software are available.

Functions

Backup Software

  • Various functions of Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) Advanced Edition can be used as backup software.

  • A summary of the features is as follows. Please refer to the product manual provided by Arcserve as it is configuration and environment dependent. For configuration examples, please refer to the Configuration Guide.

  1. Image backup/restore (with agent)

  2. Data backup.restore (with agent)

  3. Virtual machine snapshot (without agent)

  4. Replicate backup to remote site

  5. Centralized backup control with management console (including delivery and remote install of agent)

  6. Encrypt backup data with AES256 / 196/128 bits

Note

Regarding image backup / restore

Arcserve UDP requires the official template you were using for a full system restore.
Please note that if the official image template becomes unavailable due to the end of sales, the virtual machine cannot be restored from the acquired backup data.
If you have obtained a private template from the official image template in advance using the image management function,
it is possible to create a virtual machine equivalent to the original official image template from the private template.
We recommend that you prepare a private template in advance.

In addition, private templates will not be supported after the end of OS support, so
please plan to update to the new version by the end of support for the OS version.

Schedule

  • In this menu, you can select immediate or schedule as the backup execution timing, and you can also set the backup acquisition cycle and minimum retention period for the schedule. You can select “Daily”, “Weekly”, “Monthly”, and “Custom / Manual” for backup schedule.

Recovery Points

  • You can backup Max 1440 recovery points.

Required number of licenses

  • Please select the license according to the specification of the server to be backed up.

  • No license is required for the restore destination server. However, if you need a backup even at the restore destination, please apply another license.


License for Virtual Server

  • If the server you are backing up is not your proprietary physical server, please select a for Virtual Server license.

  • The ECL 2.0 external environment when using it for ECL 2.0 and DR with ECL 2.0 is the same.


License for Baremetal Server / Hypervisor

  • If the server to be backed up is a physical server with a CPU 1 socket and is exclusive to the customer, please select the for Bare Metal Server 1 Socket, Dedicated Hypervisor 1 Socket license.

  • If the server to be backed up is a physical server with a CPU 2 socket and is exclusive to the customer, please select the for Bare Metal Server 2 Socket, Dedicated Hypervisor 2 Socket license.

Note

If you are using a physical server with more than 3 CPU sockets, please apply for a number of CPU number with 1 socket / 2 socket licenses.



Service Order

Subscription Methods

  • New, additional, or discontinuation requests can be made on the portal.


Maximum number of subscription

  • You can sign up for up to 2,000 licenses.
    If customer expects more than maximum number, please contact NTTCom sales representative.

Available region of subscription

  • Customer can subscribe in following regions.

Restrictions on migrating to ECL 2.0 from non-ECL 2.0 regions

  • If you are migrating to ECL 2.0 from a country or region outside of the ECL 2.0 region, you can use your license to the extent that you meet the following conditions.

  1. License can not be used at locations as stipulated by the export laws of the United States of America.

  2. It is the customer’s responsibility to comply with the laws and regulations of the country or region where the transition is taking place.

  • For each application, you will need to specify a window for software support. It is not possible to inquire to countries other than the ECL 2.0 region providing country specified.

Pricing

Initial Fee

  • No initial cost is required to use this service.


Monthly Fees

  • This menu is a fixed monthly charge regardless of the amount of time spent in the month to be billed.



Operation

Support Coverage

  • Arcserve will directly offer the support with regard to subscribed Arcserve UDP Advanced Edition.

  • If customer suspect a malfunction of Arcserve UDP Advanced Edition, contact the support center of Arcserve.


Verified Environments

  • We have confirmed normal operation on ECL 2.0 for the environments listed in the Configuration Guide.


SLA

  • This menu does not cover SLA.



Terms And Conditions

Conditions for This Service in Combining with Other Services

  • The backup should be stored in the ECL 2.0 storage environment of the customer’s choice.


Minimum Usage Period

  • No minimum use period is required to use this service.


Important Notice Prior to Use

  1. This menu does not guarantee the success of system and data backups and restores. Backup and restoration are the responsibility of the customer. We are not responsible for any problems with the restored server.

  2. Backup may not be acquired due to service outage or maintenance. Customers shall confirm about the backup acquisition status.

  3. If data update occurs during backup acquisition, consistency of backup data may be lost. Customer shall secure consistency before backup is executed.

  4. The number of license required for each OS and server type is required for each server.

  5. To use this menu, Arcserve EULA shall be applied in addition to the terms and conditions of this menu. By comply with it, modifications such as logos, copyright notations, etc., reverse engineering, unauthorized installation, distribution, reproduction, etc. are prohibited.

  6. License can be installed once on OS. Customer can not use a used license for another server.

  7. In case of subscription or cancellation in the middle of the month, NTTCom bills a monthly fee.

  8. To change the software support region specified at the time of the subscription, customer needs to cancel the current subscription and subscribe new license.

  9. An Order ID is required to contact Arcserve. The Order ID and license key will be provided by us after you apply. Please allow 5 business days for Order ID notification.

  10. To enable you to contact Arcserve directly, we will notify Arcserve of the information you have requested.

  11. Arcserve’s support may vary by region.

  12. The license offered as this menu is not allowed to use for the system which is not directly related to the system running over ECL2.0.

  13. The license switch of OS is required for migration to ECL2.0. Customer should comply with the terms and conditions of ECL2.0 OS menu, including migration from ECL2.0 to the external environment.

  14. If any violation of license is confirmed, service may be terminated.

  15. The available term of the license conforms to Arcserve’s EOL / EOS policy.

  16. Applications are obtained from the Arcserve website.

  17. Compute resources for running the application and storage of the backup destination are not included in this menu.

  18. Changing the server type using this menu does not guarantee the success of the type change or migration work of any configuration. Server type change will be implemented at customer’s responsibility.

  19. We do not have a retention period for the backup data of this service. It will be managed by the customer.
