7.2. Using the Virtual Server Template


7.2.1. Referring the Template

Following is the procedure for referring the template stored in the private catalog.
1. Place the cursor at [1] on the Manage Enterprise Cloud screen and click [2].

2. The Manage Catalog (Private Catalog tab) screen appears. Click the template to be referred.
(Click [3] because the template to be referred this time is [test_vApp].)

3. Check that detailed information of the template. Refer to the following table (information that can be referred with the Private Catalog tab) for contents to be displayed for each item. Click [4] to export data in the OVA format file.

7.2.2. Adding Template

There are 2 methods for adding a template.
a “The method in which the template is created by importing the OVA format file”
b “The method in which the template is created with vApp”
Following is the procedure for (a) “the method in which the template is created by importing the OVA format file”.
When executing this procedure, check conditions of the OVA format file that can be imported need to be checked with the separate sheet “Usage Guide for Importing the Virtual Server Image” in advance.
For (b) “the method in which the template is created with vApp”, refer to 4.1.1 Operating vApp in the separate sheet “Usage Guide for Computing Resource”.
1. Open the Manage Catalog screen (Private Catalog tab) and click [1].

2. After inputting the necessary parameters, click [2]. When the dialog appears, select the OVA format file to be uploaded.
* Refer to the following table (input rule applied on the Private Catalog tab) for input rules applied on each item.

3. Confirm that the OVA format file is selected, and then click [3].
* To upload the template, free space, which is the total of vApp disk capacity and memory capacity before preparing the OVA format file, is required in the private catalog area.)
Note that free space does not indicate the file size of the OVA format file.

4. Confirm that new template is added on the Manage Catalogs screen (Private Catalog tab).

5. Click [5] to check the further detailed information of the task.

7.2.3. Editing the Template

Following is the procedure for editing the identification name of the template stored in the private catalog.
1. Click the template to be edited on the Manage Catalog screen (Private Catalog tab).
(Click [1] because the template to be deleted this time is [test_vApp].)

2. Check that detailed information of the template. After inputting the necessary parameters, click [2].
* Refer to the following table (input rule applied on the Private Catalog tab) for input rules applied on each item.

3. Confirm that edition of the identification name of the template is completed. Click [3].

4. The Mange Tasks screen appears. Confirm that the status of the task of the template to be checked is “Completed” and then click [4].
(Click [4] because the template after editing the identification name is [test_vApp2], then click [4].)

5. Click [5] to check the further detailed information of the task.

7.2.4. Deleting the Template

Following is the procedure for deleting the template stored in the private catalog.
1. Click the template to be deleted on the Manage Catalog screen(Private Catalog tab).
(Click [1] because the template to be deleted this time is [test_vApp].)

2. Detailed information of the template is displayed. Click [2].

3. The Warning screen appears. Check the warning and then click [3].

4. Confirm that the template is deleted. Click [4].

5. The Manage Tasks screen appears. Confirm that the status of the task of the template to be checked is “Complete” and then click [5].

6. Click [6] to check the further detailed information of the task.
