12.1. Adding a Private Catalog

This section describes the steps to add a private catalog. See the steps shown later and set up a private catalog.

  1. In the upper right part on the EC Administration page, click on [ACTIONS] and then [Catalogs].

  1. The “Manage Catalogs” panel appears. Click on [Private Catalog]. In the text files enclosed with a red rectangle on the screenshot below, specify the size of the private catalog you want to add. After specifying the size, click on [Save] at the lower right corner on the panel.

  1. Click on [X] on the title bar above the “Private Catalog” page. The EC administration page appears again. In the upper part on the EC administration page, a task bar is shown. Click on the task bar, and confirm the “Status” is “Complete”.

  • The system takes time to add a private catalog. The duration of the time varies depending on the size of the private catalog you want to add.
    Example. Approximately 20 minutes for 200GB

  1. After confirming the completion of the task, click on [ACTIONS] again in the upper right part on the EC administration page. Then, click on [Catalogs] to see the Catalog administration panel.
    If the catalog administration panel shows the information as in the screenshot below, your work here is done.

  • You can use a private catalog only with the same datacenter as the compute resource pool. You cannot use a private catalog with different datacenters.
  • If you make a template of a virtual server including the OS license provided as a compute resource, and if you create a virtual server from the template, then you need to pay the license fee for the guest OS. For the details of the types of applicable guest OSs, see “Enterprise Cloud Service Function Guide,” section 3.4, “OS License.”
  • You can delete the entire disk space of a private catalog.
