5. Expanding the Compute Resource Pool

This chapter describes the steps to expand the compute resource pool.

Note

  • To make operations described in this chapter, you need to log in to a Enterprise Cloud’s specific portal with the permission of a portal administrator.

In expanding the compute resource, please examine the capacity of each resource in consideration of the following points in a design phase.

Important

  • In case of using image backup, free memory on compute resource and storage as the overhead, are necessary only in a restoration. Recommended amount is 20% of the memory resource assigned to Virtual Machine or more than Storage resource is recommended.
【Reference】Recommendation value in the Compute Resource pool expanding
The following information is a recommended value in consideration of an overhead for three virtual server and restoration, on setting compute resource pool.
Table 14 Recommendation value of Compute Resource pool
Virtual Machine Memory Storage
DB01 8GB 100GB
Web01 4GB 120GB
Web02 4GB 120GB
Overhead for restore 10GB(8GB*1.2) 120GB
Recommendation value(Total) 36GB and over 460GB and over
