10.1.5. Setting Server Groups¶
This section describes how to set the following items.
- Setting server groups
- Adding group member servers
- Adding group member Health Check
Follow the steps below to set up each item.
10.1.5.1. Setting Server Groups¶
- On the vLoad Balancer administration screen, click on the Groups tab to open the screen of the list of server groups.
*For the display of the administration screen of vLoad Balancer, see [section 10.1.1], "Adding vLoad Balancer".
- On the screen of the list of the server groups, click on [Add Group] to open the Add Groups screen. Enter the parameters listed in the table below. Click on [Save]. After clicking on the [Save] button, close the screen.

In this environment, Round Robin (the load is distributed sequentially to each real server (a real server at the destination of load balancing)) is adopted as the load balancing algorithm.As the load balancing algorithm, the following ones can be used besides Round Robin.
- Hash (The real server at the destination of distribution is invariably determined based on the hush value of the IP address at the source of transmission.)
- Least Connections (The load is distributed to a real server that has the smallest number of connections.)
- A task bar is shown in the upper left part on the screen. Click on the task bar. The Manage Tasks screen appears. Make sure that the status of the task to add the server group is “Complete”.
- On the vLoad Balancer administration screen, click on the Groups tab. Make sure that the group is correctly added in the screen of the list of the server groups.
10.1.5.2. Adding Group Member Servers¶
- On the vLoad Balancer administration screen, click on the Groups tab to open the screen of the list of the server groups.
On the screen of the list of the server groups, click on the group name you have added. Click on the plus sign (+ ) at the side of “Add group member server” in the lower part of the screen to view the screen to add the group member server.
- On the screen to add the group member server, enter the parameters listed in the table below. Click on [Save]. After clicking on the [Save] button, close the screen.

- A task bar is shown in the upper left part on the screen. Click on the task bar. The Manage Tasks screen appears. Make sure that the status of the task to add the group member server is “Complete”.
- On the vLoad Balancer administration screen, click on the Groups tab. Make sure that the server you have added to “Real Server Name” on the screen of the server group list is correctly added.
10.1.5.3. Adding Group Member Health Check¶
- On the vLoad Balancer administration screen, click on the Groups tab. Open the screen of the list of the server groups.
- On the screen of the list of the server groups, click on the group name you have added. Click on the plus sign ( +) at the side of “Add group member health check” in the lower part on the screen to view the screen to add the group member Health Check.
On the screen to add the group member Health Check, enter the parameter listed in the table below. Click on [Save]. After clicking on the [Save] button, close the screen.

- A task bar is shown in the upper left part on the screen. Click on the task bar. The Manage Tasks screen appears. Make sure that the status of the task to add the group member Health Check is “Complete”.
- On the vLoad Balancer administration screen, click on the Groups tab. Make sure that the Health Check you have added to “Health Check Name” on the screen of the list of the server groups is correctly added.
