1. How to configure Remote Desktop environment
1.1. Environment
1.1.1. Precondition
1.1.2. Configuration information.
1.2. Pre-work
1.2.1. Click on [Server Manager], then [Add other servers to manage].
1.2.2. Select host name of the server you want to add, then register “rds-sh01” and “rds-license01” from “Active Directory;” to “Selected” on [Add Servers].
1.2.3. Verify “Remote Desktop Session Host” and “Remote desktop license” are Listed on [All Servers].
1.3. How to configure Remote Desktop environment
1.3.1. Install “Session Host”, “Connection Broker”, and “Remote WebApp” as the role of Remote Desktop.
1.3.2. Click on [Server Manager], [All Servers], [Manage], then [Add Roles and Features].
1.3.3. Click [Next] on “Before you begin” screen.
1.3.4. Select [Remote Desktop Services Installation] on [Select installation type].
1.3.5. Select [Standard deployment] on [Select deployment type].
1.3.6. Select “Session-based desktop deployment” on [Select deployment scenario] screen.
1.3.7. Click [Next] on “Review role services” screen.
1.3.8. Select “rds-sh01” you want to install, then register it from “Server Pool;” to “Selected” on [Specify RD connection Broker server].
1.3.9. Select “rds-sh01” you want to install, then register it from “Server Pool;” to “Selected” on [Specify RD Web Access server].
1.3.10. Select “rds-sh01” you want to install, then register it from “Server Pool;” to “Selected” on [RD Session host].
1.3.11. Check on [Restart the destination server automatically if required] on [Confirm selection] screen, then click [Deploy].
1.3.12. Click [Exit] after you make sure installation of each Roles succeeded on [View Progress] screen.
1.4. Add Virtual Server created from Official Image as License server on Remote Desktop environment.
1.4.1. Click “rds-license01” on [Remote Desktop Service] screen.
1.4.2. Select “rds-license01”, then register it from “Server Pool;” to “Selected” on [Server selection].
1.4.3. The selected license server name will be displayed. Then click on [Add].
1.4.4. Verify installation status becomes [Succeeded].
1.4.5. Click on [Edit Deployment Properties].
1.4.6. Click on [RD License Server], then select [Per User].
1.4.7. Right-click on “rds-license01” displayed on [Remote Desktop Services], then click on [RD Licensing Manager].
1.4.8. Right-click on “rds-license01” on [RD Licensing Manager], then click [Review Configuration].
1.4.9. After pop-up screen shows up, click on [Add to Group].
1.4.10. After pop-up screen shows up, click on [Continue].
1.4.11. Click on [OK].
1.4.12. Verify all of status turn to be normal.
1.5. Create “Session Collection” on remote desktop environment.
1.5.1. Right-click [RD session] on [Remote Desktop Services] screen, then click on [Create Session Collection].
1.5.2. Create [Next] on [Before you begin] screen.
1.5.3. Input name on [Session Collection] screen, then click on [Next].
1.5.4. Select “rds-sh01” on [RD Session Host] screen, then register to [Selected].
1.5.5. Select the usergroup you want to use Remote Desktop, then click [Next].
1.5.6. Click [Next] on [User Profile Disks] screen without checking [Enable user profile disks].
1.5.7. Click [Create] after verifying configuration.
1.5.8. Click [Exit] after you make sure adding session host and creating session collection succeeded on [View Progress] screen.
1.5.9. Right-click on License Server name displayed on [Remote Desktop Services], then click on [RD Licensing Diagnoser].
1.5.10. Verify “Number of licensing available for clients”, and “Credentials” and “Connectivity” are Available on [RD Licensing Diagnoser].
