Overview

Overview of Menu

  • Enterprise Cloud (hereinafter referred as “ECL1.0”) provides the public template of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (hereinafter referred to as “RHEL”) that can be used in the customer’s server environment.
  • RHEL license of the provider license is provided with the CCP contract (certified Cloud provider contract).

Features of Menu

  • On-demand
    Customer can create public template of RHEL in the customer’s compute pool via customer portal or API.
  • Cost
    It is possible to use the license monthly.

Functions that are provided with the public template of RHEL are as follows.

Function Name Overview
Default User Name User name of OS is set by using the specified value of this menu.
Setting of Default User Password Password at the initial login using the user name of OS varies depending on servers.
Locale Setting The specified values in this menu are set for Timezone / Language / Character code / Locale / Keyboard in OS.
Security Setting Security setting of OS (iptables/SELinux) is set by using the specified value of this menu.
SSH Setting Setting of sshd conf of OS is set with the specified value of this menu.
Other Settings The specified values of this menu are set for initial state of OS/ additional PKG / repository/ IPv6 / NTP / DNS / default gateway.

Setting of Default User Name

Default user name and privilege of default user are as follows.

Setting of Default User Password

Password of root is notified with the secure message on the Customer Portal after deployment when setting the default password of root.


*For security reasons, be sure to change the initial password.

Default Setting Repository Server FQDN of the RHUI (CDS) server is specified in this menu.

Inquiry and Support

  • We support default setting of RHEL, initial login to CentOS and OS license certification.
  • If OS license is used, customer can use “Software Access” and “Software Maintenance” functions of the software subscription of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • As for licensed products used by customer, we do not provide support (survey, support and advise) to respond to requests from customer related to handling of malfunctions of installation, setup and basic functions that customer faced.
  • Although customer can add/change OS and application and freely combine by designing the deployed OS template by themselves, support for combination with customer’s design, build and other ECL1.0 menus is not provided in this menu.
  • For inquiry method, make an inquiry according to the flow described in Enterprise Cloud 1.0 Service Functional Description.

Terms of Use

Minimum Usage Period

  • Minimum usage period is not provided for this menu.

Items that Need to be Prepared in Advance

  • To access to the repository server, Internet connection menu is required separately.

Restrictions

  • Access from the server other than servers created in this menu to the repository server and usage of the repository server are prohibited.
  • Disclosing information that is necessary for installing such as activation key and subscription number via document or other means cannot be disclosed to customer directly.
  • Delivery to the OS template to another instance on ECL1.0 is prohibited.

Operation Quality

Operation quality of this menu complies with operation quality stipulated as standard in ECL1.0.


SLA

SLA in this menu is not applied.


Monitoring

Monitoring and operation are not performed in this menu.
Alive monitoring can be done by enabling the Ping monitoring function.

Monthly Fee

  • Charging Format
    Fixed monthly subscription according to number of vCPUs is applied.
    See the attached Price List for details.
    If vCPU is changed during the month, the upper limit amount for the maximum number of vCPUs is applied for the monthly maximum amount.
  • Billing target
    The virtual server in which OS license is stored is the billing target.
